How to make a quick & simple gluten-free apple pie

I have a great recipe for you today a quick and simple apple pie and it’s gluten-free! I needed another pie this past weekend but didn’t have much time. Usually, I make my gluten-free pie from scratch, but I didn’t have time so I made it much quicker and simpler.
My apple pie turned out delicious and was simple to make using a few pre-made ingredients!

I usually keep pre-made gluten-free pie crust in my freezer, so when I need it I have it. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to thaw. I always keep apples and canned apples in the pantry, just in case.

The other baking items I had on hand and a few quick ingredients helped to make this pie a favorite for dessert!

How To Make A Quick and Simple Gluten-Free Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 – pre-made gluten-free pie crust
  • 2- cans baking apples
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1- egg white ( optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter ( optional)
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free flour

Equipment Needed:

  • pie pan ( optional)
  • spoon
  • paring knife
  • small bowl
  • basting brush
  • small cookie sheet
  • pie edger ( or aluminum foil)
  • rolling Pin

Directions on How To Make A Quick and Simple Gluten-Free Apple Pie

  • Thaw 2 gluten-free pre-made pie crusts for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Heat oven to 450 degrees
  • once thawed remove one pie crust from the pie pan and place it on a lightly floured surface, cut off the edges and sides leaving the circle area.
  • pour canned apples into the first pie crust and sprinkle the cinnamon over the top of the apples
  • next place the circle part of the pie crust on top of the apples and crimp the sides to the round pie crust.
  • with the leftover pie crust sides make leaves and place them on top of the pie, and then
place the pie on a small baking sheet
  • using a basting brush, brush the pie crust with melted butter or an egg wash
  • cover the sides of the pie crust with either foil or a pie crust edger
  • place the baking sheet with the pie on the center rack of the oven and bake at 450 for 30 minutes at 20 minutes remove the pie crust edger or foil and continue to bake for the last 10 minutes.
  • Once removed let the pie sit for 5 minutes then serve with vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and add a little whipping cream.

Toppings To Add To A Gluten Free Apple Pie

There are some great toppings to add to a gluten-free apple pie. Vanilla Ice cream is a favorite but caramel swirl ice cream tastes just as good! Believe it or not chocolate ice cream on top of a gluten-free apple pie is so good! Drizzled with a little chocolate syrup or some chocolate cocoa, this will add the best flavor. Here are some more ideas on what to top your apple pie with.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Caramel Ice Cream
  • Chocolate Ice Cream
  • Fudge Syrup
  • Chocolate Cocoa
  • Marshmallow Whip
  • Cool Whip
  • Whipping Cream
  • Granola
  • Custard
  • A Slice of Cheddar Cheese
  • Candied Pecans

How to Store Gluten-Free Apple Pie

Gluten-free apple pie can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days if sealed properly. Use a pie container or freezer bag making sure to seal the pie to keep it fresh.
Freeze apple pie for 4 to 6 months. You will want to wrap it tightly in freezer plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer bag or a freezer pie container.

Apple pie is the most requested dessert and can be made in many ways. The recipe I’m sharing today is very quick and simple and it takes no time at all to put together. It was so scrumptious!

I hope you and your family enjoy this gluten-free apple pie recipe as much as my family and I did!

Many Blessings
