A gluten free apple oat dump cake is one of the first desserts I made when I started eating gluten free. It’s so easy and quick to make and it’s made with simple ingredients. I’m no baker but I do like to eat gluten free bake goods especially home made bake goods.

On Thanksgiving I needed another dessert quick and I had all the ingredients for an apple oat dump cake. It was so easy to put together and a gluten free dump cake is good any time for dessert!

How To Make A Quick and Easy Gluten Free Apple Oat Dump Cake

By adding a few simple ingredients together you can make a quick and easy gluten free apple oat dessert. You’ll need just a few baking ingredients to make a dump cake such as apple pie filling, a gluten free cake mix, gluten free oatmeal, cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter. This is a great dessert to pop in the oven when you want a warm comforting dessert on a cold winter night.

Quick and Easy Gluten Free Apple Oat Dump Cake Ingredients:

  • Melted Butter
  • Apple pie filling
  • Gluten Free cake mix
  • Gluten Free oats
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon or apple pie spice mix

A gluten free yellow cake mix or a gluten free spice cake mix will work great in the dump cake recipe.

Oatmeal and brown sugar sprinkled over the dump cake

Quick and Easy Gluten Free Apple Oat Dump Cake Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350 spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray
  2. Melt Butter
  3. Add cake mix to melted butter combine until crumble
  4. Add 2 can’s of apple pie filling to prepared baking pan
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon or apple pie spice over apples
  6. Top with cake and butter mixture
  7. Mix brown sugar and gluten free oat’s and sprinkle over top
  8. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until edges are bubbling
  9. When cooled I added a drizzle of powder sugar mixture with vanilla.

Quick and Easy Gluten Free Apple Oat Dump Cake

Equipment

  • 1 9 x 13 baking pan
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Small dish
  • 1 Measuring cup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Stick of butter
  • 1 Gluten Free box cake gluten free vanilla or spice cake mix
  • 2 Cans apple pie filling
  • 1 cup Gluten Free Oats
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon or Apple pie spice

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 350 and spray a 9 x 13 baking with non stick cooking spray
  • Melt butter
  • Mix melted butter with the cake mix until crumbly
  • Empty 2 can's of apple pie filling into prepared baking pan
  • Sprinkle with 2 tsp of cinnamon
  • In a small bowl mix together oatmeal and brown sugar and then sprinkle on the top of the dump cake
  • Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes
  • Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes and serve warm with vanilla ice cream

Notes

A few tips
If  using a convection oven cooking time varies, bake an extra 5-7 minutes.
If using cut up apples bake apples 10 minutes prior to adding mixture for dump cake.
I added a drizzle of powder sugar mixture over the top of the apple oat dump cake.
The mixture is 1/2 cup of powder sugar and 1 tablespoon of vanilla.
Served warm with vanilla ice cream is the way we like to enjoy our dump cake
