Winter is here and many of us miss that cozy warm feeling after all the decor is put away. Living in the mid-west we still have a few months of winter and I want to make my home feel warm and winter comfortable.

So after the holiday’s I’ll use some of the decorations I used at Christmas time to create that cozy winter house. Just in case you missed it this is my Christmas home tour. https://houseofmar.com/2021-christmas-home-tour-part-one/

Ideas on how to use winter decorations

Here are some ideas on how to use winter decoration around the house.

Leaving the winter greens along the fireplace mantel, atop of mirrors, in a pretty bowl, placed in a basket or dough bowl.

Adding pinecones, snowflake, and greens look so winterish!

Use a small green tree with white lights for a winter glow.

Candles are wonderful anytime but especially during the winter! It creates such a warm to a home.

Blankets make a room cozy and chucky blankets look especially nice in the winter.

Keeping some metals out from the holidays, such as silver, mercury glass and gold’s give a warm feeling to any room.

I love to use ribbon, placing it wall sconces, mirrors, and added to a lamp gives a room a cozy feel.

Also lets not forget smells, evergreen and pine are great for winter!
